When it comes to trichological assessment o trico-cosmetic evaluation, many people imagine a quick check of the scalp or the use of an instrument that “watches the hair closely”.
In fact, in the Trichothecary Centres the concept is broader and more structured.
Our method is based on EVALUATION VTIⓇ (Integrated Trico-Cosmetic Evaluation): a patented and registered method developed by Elena Pozzan, founder and trainer of the’Academy of Trichology and based on an approach of integrated holistic trichology.
Understanding how a professional evaluation really works is the first step to overcoming mistrust, clarifying doubts and consciously choosing whom to trust.
Because “looking at hair” is not enough”
Hair loss, thinning or a change in the quality of the hair or scalp, do not start with the hair itself. They are a sign of a possible imbalance of the organism.
To limit oneself to superficial observation is to focus only on the effect.
La EVALUATION VTIⓇ Instead, it starts from a clear premise: the hair is a biological indicator. It is a very sensitive structure that reflects everything that happens on a systemic level.
For this reason, in the Trichothecary Centres we do not proceed with a standardised check, but with an articulated process that integrates observation, listening and professional interpretation.
Phase 1: Listening and information gathering
Every professional evaluation begins with the’observation of the person and dialogue.
The Specialist trichologist found at the Trichothecary Centres devotes time to gathering information through in-depth questionnaire consisting of over 120 questions, relating to:
- physical, psychological and physiological conditions
- habits and recent changes in lifestyle
- periods of prolonged stress
- dietary or digestive habits and variations
- hormonal changes
- perceived alterations in hair quality or density
- timing of the fall or thinning
This moment is not formal: it is fundamental.
Many trichological phenomena are not immediate. L’trichological anomaly may occur weeks or months after the event that generated the imbalance.
Without careful information gathering, there is a risk of interpreting the signal in a biased manner.
Step 2: Technical observation of the scalp and hair
The second phase of the EVALUATION VTIⓇ concerns direct observation using technologically advanced instruments, such as, for example, the micro-camera, tricamera or the microscope.
During the tricho-cosmetic observation, they are analysed in detail:
- the state of the scalp
- the apparent density of the hair
- the quality of the stem
- any changes in distribution
- signs of alteration of the follicular environment
This observation is not an end in itself but is aimed at investigate the real causes hidden behind the evidence.
It is not a matter of describing what you see, but of interpreting it in the light of the information gathered in the previous phase.
This is where training makes a difference.
Each TTechnical Tricologist of Trichothecary Centres is trained at the’Academy of Trichology and applies a shared, certified and approved method. This ensures uniformity of approach and consistency of interpretation throughout the national and supranational network.
Step 3: Integrated Interpretation
It is the central moment of the EVALUATION VTIⓇ.
The data collected are not considered in isolation but are related to each other.
A period of high stress, a change in diet, a period of particular emotional commitment can contribute to generating an imbalance that is reflected in the hair cycle.
Integrated trichology does not replace other professional figures and never makes medical diagnoses! On the contrary, it very often makes use of the professionalism of medical specialists to assist the problem from a clinical point of view.
The Trichologist Technician (TT) and the Specialised Trichologist Technician (TTS) However, they offer specific expertise in reading trichological signals and understanding the possible dynamics influencing them.
Our objective is not medicalise the phenomenon, but interpret it correctly within our exclusive area of competence.
Step 4: Customised pathway
At the end of the EVALUATION VTIⓇ , the trichologist provides personalised guidance.
There are never standard solutions.
Each customised route is built on the basis of individual characteristics, personal history and the current state of the scalp and hair.
This is one of the main elements that distinguishes a professional evaluation from mere generic advice.
Customisation reduces improvisation.
It reduces random attempts.
It reduces the use of inconsistent products.

How long does a professional trichological assessment take?
A true EVALUATION VTIⓇ takes time to be accurate and thorough.
It is not a few minutes' inspection but takes about an hour and a half.
Tackling each stage calmly makes it possible:
- gathering comprehensive information
- avoid hasty interpretations
- set a truly targeted path
In the trichological and tricho-cosmetic field, haste is the enemy of understanding!
Why are many people distrustful?
Distrust often stems from unstructured previous experiences.
Quick promises.
Universal solutions.
Products presented as solving... but which in the medium to long term can also lead to a worsening of the condition.
La VTI EVALUATION does not promise miracles.
It promises method.
It promises consistency.
It promises specific expertise.
Understanding the signal is more important than covering it temporarily.
The CTT Method Difference
I Trichothecary Centres do not operate as isolated realities.
They are part of a national network with shared training.
La VTI EVALUATION is a registered method, developed within the’Academy of Trichology and applied uniformly in the participating centres.
This means that no matter which city you are in, the approach remains consistent.
Methodological consistency means consistent quality.
When is the right time to carry out a trichological assessment?
It is advisable to request an evaluation when:
- the fall clearly increases
- thinning progresses
- the quality of the hair changes
- a persistent change is perceived over time
By intervening early, the signal can be understood before it becomes more obvious.
Prevention, in integrated trichology, means watching carefully.
From trichological analysis to VTI EVALUATION
Many online searches start with the keyword tricamera.
It is a widespread and understandable term.
But in Trichothecary Centres we prefer to talk about VTI EVALUATION, because it best describes what really happens: a structured, integrated and customised path.
Not a quick check.
Not generic counselling.
A method.
The first step towards understanding
If you have noticed a change in your hair, the first step is not to choose a product.
It is to understand.
A VTI EVALUATION allows you to clarify your current status, receive personalised guidance and orientate yourself consciously.
In Trichothecary Centres find Tricology Technicians trained at the’Academy of Trichology, prepared to accompany you on this path with competence and rigour.
Because hair is not just a matter of aesthetics.
It is a signal.
And every signal deserves to be understood.
